Institutions that outlast their founders.

I'm a biotechnology engineer from Ecuador, based in Hong Kong. For ten years I've built organisations, ventures and programs with one thing in common: they're designed to keep running when I stop holding them up. Some of them already do.

Most things built by one person die with that person's attention. The founder is the bottleneck, the fundraiser, the face, and the single point of failure. It feels like leadership and it's actually fragility.

I build the opposite. A youth coalition that now has a Chair who isn't me. A conservation program run by teenagers in an Ecuadorian high school. A deep-tech venture with the science in other people's hands. The test isn't whether it works while I'm in the room. The test is whether it works when I leave.

That's a harder thing to build and a much better thing to own.

Global Youth Coalition

I founded GYC because the rooms where decisions get made about young people almost never contain any. It grew into a coalition across 170+ countries teaching governance, systems leadership, and how to actually operate inside an institution rather than shout at it.

In September 2026 I handed the Chair to Merna. I stayed on as Founder, which means I protect the long arc and stay out of the operating decisions. Most founders say they'll do this. The handover is on paper and it happened.

That's the proof of everything else on this page. I built something for four years and then made myself unnecessary to it.

Serenexis — Sapiomatic

Serenexis is a clinician-supervised AI wellbeing platform built for the Hong Kong market. Not a chatbot with a calming voice — a system with clinical oversight in the loop, because the category is full of products that are one bad conversation away from serious harm.

I hold the grant. That means the commercial strategy, the milestones, and the risk sit with me, while the machine learning sits with people who are better at it than I am.

A million square meters. A high school club. A foundation's forest.

Pulso One

Pulso One started as a club I set up at Johannes Kepler high school in Ecuador. The territory belongs to the Yachana Foundation. The software is UON.earth, which cuts protected ground into geocoded units that anyone can fund and anyone can verify.

Three parts, none of them impressive alone. Together they turn land that was only ever going to be described into land that can be paid for, one unit at a time. The target is a million square meters under protection.

The students run it. That's not a charming detail, it's the design.

The Earth Prize

Chair of the Adjudicating Panel.

The world's environmental prize for 13-to-19-year-olds. I chair the panel that judges it, which means I see the 35 projects distilled from hundreds of submissions every cycle before anyone else does.

I'm also happy to help bridge the foundation to strategic backers. Open to conversations about funding or sponsoring an upcoming cycle.

How I Got Here

I trained as a biotechnology engineer and published research in genomics and bioinformatics. That background does one useful thing: it makes me suspicious of anything that can't be measured.

At its core, Epoch Biomorphic Design is about building human systems with biological resilience — systems designed to keep running even if a vital component fails.

The things we cherish most — a healthy forest, a resilient kid, a good night's sleep — cannot be monetized. And because they cannot be counted, they are never funded, leaving them entirely unprotected.

Everything I build is a continuation of the same core impulse: translate organic principles into physical systems, let the structure mirror evolution, and let the form speak for itself.

I've represented Ecuador at COP. I live in Hong Kong now, which means I work between a continent that holds the land and a continent that holds the capital and the machines. Very few people are credible at both ends of that. It's the most useful thing about me.
